This is for [livejournal.com profile] rachel_martin64 (and [livejournal.com profile] chibitoaster):

I got the box today.

And I've been all FLAIL since then. This is amazing.

The music is stunning. The mixes are wonderful. I'm doing a minor weekend trip this weekend and, trust me, that roadtrip mix is getting played. Metallica shines through with wonder.

The photos are great. Currently one from the CD (an unlabelled valley in the west, with red rock formations, the Rockies in the distance, and a winding road with a bridge - maybe someone can tell me where this gorgeous place is) is my desktop. I love photos and some of these are nothing short of drop-dead stunning. The Florida photos of NASA are great, too. (And the Wigwam motel! I've sent people to those, but... oh, to see them.)

And then the box itself. I think it's almost as big as me. In fact, if I emptied it, I could probably fit inside. So I'm happily overwhelmed by it. The maps and booklets and brochures... you're bringing out the map-geek in me. Give a tech geek a computer and he's happy. Give me this, and I'm overjoyed. (And the food? That just makes it. It just does. I'm still digging through it and finding things. I just found the emergency food rations and have the biggest grin on my face.)

I love the little notes. The little notes make me giggle as I go through them. I can see them happening. (The can of soup! I can totally see Dean buying Sam a can of drinkable soup when he has a cold.)

I'm still exploring, but I wanted to let you know that I got the box and it's amazing.

(The only problem? The wanderlust that's been gnawing at me for a year now? Is totally chomping at the bit, screaming, "Let's go! Let's go! See those amazing places? Find a road buddy and let's get going! Now!")

really, please,
sometimes pretend there are people who have no idea what you may be talking about.
the box?
that's about as generic as it gets. and then all the description afterwards makes no sense.
it's big? it has maps? it has mixes? there's food? Nasa is involved?
i've got the box?
it's like reading linus on acid.
what the hell?

For [livejournal.com profile] livelongnmarry, I donated money for marriage equality and won a box from [livejournal.com profile] rachel_martin64 that [livejournal.com profile] chibitoaster and I split.

The box is big. It has maps, music mixes, food, and photos (including photos of NASA).

AND I AM SO HAPPY BECAUSE I AM DORKY AND IT HAS MAPS. CAPSLOCKS ARE NEEDED TO EXPRESS THIS.

Does that make sense?

ok now i follow.
i thought it was some sort of crazy supernatural thing, and soon tor would show up at the shop all glassy eyed and foaming at the mouth mumbling
the box....the box...
and chris would expect me to explain.
and all i'd be able to say was.
i think *** has one but she handled it better.
thanks

Technically it is a crazy supernatural thing. BUT IT ALSO HAS MAPS AND MAPS ARE MUCH MORE IMPORTANT (AND SO ARE THE PICTURES).

My wanderlust is rendering me incoherent.

ok,
So on special occasions instead of flowers i should give you..
MAPS.
this is important for me to know.
thank you.
oh and before i forget
MAPS.
who loves y' kiddo?

Maps and pictures of where the maps will take me. :)

You've had to deal with me and my wanderlust before! You know I'm incorrigible!

AHH!
so i can play riddler to your batman. And leave you packages with maps and pictures, puzzles and keys. and lead you deeper into my ever so lovely clockwork like designs.
i could get into that.

Hmmm,

Now not only do i have to come up with a fiendish plan.
I gotta find a lime green derby
and a cane with a question mark handle.
i wonder if they're selling old Dr. Who props at the BBC.

I am so very, very pleased that you are enjoying your box of goodies!

I'm genuinely thrilled that you liked the mix CDs I made. It is such a joy to me that you liked the music I picked.

Glad you liked my notes, I had fun writing them!

And I am glad you like the road trip photos I took. It makes me very happy that someone is enjoying them. The valley with the red rocks in the foreground and the Rockies in the background is either Red Rocks Canyon or Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, CO. I am just a amateur photographer so I humbly appreciate the "stunning" remark.

It can be scary traveling -- being from the East Coast, I am really astonished at how empty and desolate some parts of this country are. I'm scared to death most of the time I'm on the road, but the memories afterwards are wonderful. Hey, don't laugh at my emergency food rations, I really do travel with them, and I bet Dean does too!

I am relieved that this deal worked out between you and chibitoaster -- what a strange auction that was, with the two of you agreeing to join forces and split the winnings. I am glad that both of you seem very pleased with the results.
