Post 3 things you've done that you believe nobody else on your friends' list has done. Indulge in remorse if someone calls you out on a listed item.
1. When I was in grade school (I think I was seven because it was before I wore glasses) I got a paper cut in my left eye.
senor_coconut_1 did that, too, so here's a new one:
1. The summer/fall of my senior year of high school I contracted whooping cough at the tail end of a variety of maladies, but for a period of time, everyone thought I had an eating disorder and I had to fight a bit to get tested. (My primary symptom was that every time I coughed I threw up and eventually I just stopped eating, so I can see, now, where they were coming from.) I was quarantined because I couldn't take the whooping cough antibiotics right away, since I was already on a heavy round of antibiotics for another infection.
2. I set my self on fire one Christmas Day in high school while trying to make tea.
3. I hand refurbished and refinished (with my dad's help) a pressed tin steamer trunk that we think my great-grandfather won in a poker game and has managed to survive two massive and devastating fires.
Also, I am offering my fanfiction abilities up for auction at
livelongnmarry here.
livelongnmarry is "a fandom auction to benefit marriage equality...The auction will raise money for the fight against the California initiative which will legally destroy existing same-sex marriages and ban any further ones. If the initiative passes, it will write discrimination into the state constitution, annull existing marriages, and make Mr. Sulu cry."
I am thinking about offering my baking and/or knitting abilities as well, mostly because... well, marriage equality and something to do.
I've also cast on for the Litla Dimun shawl in Telemark Alpine Frost, which is far more of a midnight blue than the webpage suggests. The yarn is thicker than suggested, but I think it will be fine and Jesus on a pogo stick, it will be warm! I'm still in the 400+ stitches per row section, which is boring, tiring, and worrisome, but lace will be soon. I'm hoping to have it done in time for autumn.

And yeah, totally with you on the wanting to help causes and having no money. That's basically why I took the job I have, and why I signed up for this auction. I just hope I get bids. XD
