I'm happy about several things in this episode, even though I shouldn't have watched it and am like... crazy.

In any case: Dean finally told Sam what's going on in his head! That conversation at the place where Sam left for Stanford?

"All of your best memories are of leaving me!"
"I don't understand your love! You love the people who hurt you!"
"Why can't you love me the way I love you? Why can't anyone love me?! Shit! The feds!"

Also, Sam finally got to see the root of so many of Dean's complex issues (why was Sam's psych so obvious?). The fact that John left Mary, that Dean has been the kid in charge since before Sam was born. That it's not Sam who fucked up Dean but John and Mary who fucked up Dean. (Poor Dean.) Because honestly, I think Sam's always thought that it was his fault Dean is screwed up and dependent and it's not.

SAM AND DEAN ARE SOULMATES. Dr. Badass said so! HFS, they're soulmates. SAM AND DEAN ARE FUCKING SOULMATES GUYS. WHAT IS THIS MY BIG BANG IS FUCKING WRITING ITSELF RIGHT NOW ITS PRACTICALLY CANON IMMA DIE OR SOMETHING

Things that are bad:

IDK if it was actually a trigger (Dean is... never a trigger for me) or if I'm so stressed, it pushed me over. But the Zachariah scene? Was a very very bad thing.

This whole episode had me on edge. Totally screwed with my emotions.

I think Joshua is secretly God.

I think John actually abused Dean. I was actually a good!John fan until now. But the look on Dean's face when he talked about John coming home when Sam ran away? That was not because John yelled at him. And then God abandoning Dean after we learn John is a bastard with bastard sauce? Urgh.

Castiel blasphemed. I mean, Sassy moment ftw, but Castiel blasphemed.

Dean abandoned his amulet. No words.

Any episode where Sam is the best hope the world has for saving and he has to be the one chasing after his family and reuniting them.... might not end so well, yeah? Sam's not so good at that.

I was thinking the gagged and beaten bit was torture in hell. Sucky John was sucky but I do not believe he was abusive. At least not in a physical way.
