Um. Wow.
I was really looking forward to this episode because I really wanted to see what's going on with Sam. And wow, did we learn. I'm pretty stunned by Mary's appearance. Young Sam was good, as was Dean. Alistair was decidedly creepy.
I'm kind of distressed by how it ended (Dean, you needed to tell Sam you love him; Sam, you needed to... not be an addict and not have an addict's behavior).
Castiel, that was very, very bad. I feel so firm in my theory that these are not good angels. These are angels like in Lucifer and Sandman and all of those things were angels aren't necessarily good.
Ruby, you were so creepy in this episode. (Kudos to Genevieve. That was great acting.) I so do not trust her. So freaking creepy and I don't even know why.
I think that Sam knows he's becoming something bad. His hallucinations, I think, show that very well. I don't want him to go evil - I'm not sure I could keep liking him as much if he's evil and goes all yellow eyed demon.
If the finale ends like this, I shall be distressed. I want them to be brothers. And snark at each other.
With Sam drinking demon blood and Dean giving himself over to the angels and fighting Dean the way he did... Okay, so obviously I've been thinking about this because of my serial killer fic, but. I'm beginning to think that the outside point of view - Gordon, Hendricksen, etc. - might be the right one. It's kind of creepy to think about, but. It kind of works, especially when the Winchesters' carefully constructed world is rapidly raveling. (This would be somewhere along the lines of: Sam is evil and Dean is a raging sociopath.)
Also, how obvious is it that Sam is Lucifer's first?
It's kind of breaking my heart how all this ties back to season two. Sam asked Dean to kill him before he went evil. John told Dean to kill Sam before he went evil. And Dean and Sam... god. This isn't who Sam ever wanted to be. And... gah.

Very obvious. When Ruby said it was Lilith I literally rolled my eyes and went, "Really?" Sam is SO his first.
And I'm torn on the brothers fighting. I think it's necessary but I'm not sure if I actually like them breaking up. I'll have to see the next episode before I decided. lol
Yeah, Castiel in this episode...I just kinda wish I knew what they were up to. I trust them over Ruby ANY day though.

Breaking up like that in the honeymoon suite was heartbreaking. But... Okay, if Dean's been told that he needs to kill Sam if Sam goes bad even by Sam himself (remember season two?), then is it any surprise that Dean's reacting like this? Everyone except Bobby has basically told Dean that he needs to end Sam if this happens.

Too true, bb.
I didn't think it was that surprising, I totally remember that. I just think they never thought it would come to it. And Bobby...all he wants is for those boys to be safe. *Shrugs* I dunno, this episode is just...*shrugs* lol

Once Dean showed up the camera view on the boys was odd. I guess it was supposed to be like we were looking from their eyes.
Finally, to add to your thoughts: I think Gordon was right. He was righteous, but probably right about Sam the whole time.
