This is for
rachel_martin64 (and
chibitoaster):
I got the box today.
And I've been all FLAIL since then. This is amazing.
The music is stunning. The mixes are wonderful. I'm doing a minor weekend trip this weekend and, trust me, that roadtrip mix is getting played. Metallica shines through with wonder.
The photos are great. Currently one from the CD (an unlabelled valley in the west, with red rock formations, the Rockies in the distance, and a winding road with a bridge - maybe someone can tell me where this gorgeous place is) is my desktop. I love photos and some of these are nothing short of drop-dead stunning. The Florida photos of NASA are great, too. (And the Wigwam motel! I've sent people to those, but... oh, to see them.)
And then the box itself. I think it's almost as big as me. In fact, if I emptied it, I could probably fit inside. So I'm happily overwhelmed by it. The maps and booklets and brochures... you're bringing out the map-geek in me. Give a tech geek a computer and he's happy. Give me this, and I'm overjoyed. (And the food? That just makes it. It just does. I'm still digging through it and finding things. I just found the emergency food rations and have the biggest grin on my face.)
I love the little notes. The little notes make me giggle as I go through them. I can see them happening. (The can of soup! I can totally see Dean buying Sam a can of drinkable soup when he has a cold.)
I'm still exploring, but I wanted to let you know that I got the box and it's amazing.
(The only problem? The wanderlust that's been gnawing at me for a year now? Is totally chomping at the bit, screaming, "Let's go! Let's go! See those amazing places? Find a road buddy and let's get going! Now!")
