The thesis is done.

I was rewarded with the migraine from Hell (tm). In the middle of my exam. It was... exciting. I took an Imitrex and I'm better than I was, but I'm still light and sound sensitive (my lamp and the hall tea outside my door are delightful right now).

I owe [livejournal.com profile] red_handed an explanation from over a week ago:
1. Reply to this post and I will pick 3 of your icons and 7 of your interests.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons/interests I chose.

anglo-saxon literature
What is more awesome than Anglo-Saxon literature? Not much, let me tell you. I have a biding interest in their poetry and riddles, as well as their language.

goats
I like goats. They're all around useful animals, especially if you choose the right breed - milk, meat, wool, hide, all from the same animal. They're also head strong and annoying and all the characteristics I like in animals. If I'm down, my friends know goats will cheer me up.

medieval history
It's crazy, medieval history is. I love studying most things from the medieval period (esp. Anglo-Saxon England...). They're nuts. It's awesome. It's like studying Pink Floyd songs and being respected for it.

neurological disorders
I have a neurological disorder (dystonia) and I wish such disorders were better understood by both doctors and the public at large. I'm also interested in learning more about them myself, having received conflicting information from doctors over the years.

rosencrantz/guildenstern (LOL, I had never thought of them as a ship )
Clearly, you've never seen/read Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Go do it. Right now. If you have to, go rent or download the movie. It makes so much sense after that.

steampunk
What isn't awesome about steampunk? My steampunk writing isn't here - it's over at [livejournal.com profile] journeybysea or [livejournal.com profile] zeppelinat4, which is locked. I love punk ideals and combining it with steam power just delights me to no end. Also, steam powered Mongols? They're even better than regular Mongols or Victorian steampunk. Just saying.

stuffed animals
I lovelovelovelovelove my stuffed animals. I seem to collect them by my very existence. Currently living on my bed: Brown Bear, the brown bear I've had since I was two days old; Okpik, the snowy owl named for a native word for snowy owl; Siegfried, the Ikea snake named after a patron saint of Sweden; Ciaran Eagan, the gray goat named for a lady in my uncle's former parish who would take her pet goat for walks by the rectory - I like to imagine she might have given him such a human name as well.

Lastly, I'm head-achey and paper-writing (great combo) and have a ginormous flist. I'd love to get to know you better. I stole this meme off [livejournal.com profile] hecticity who wants on my library books. But yes, let's get to know one another better and you can distract me from the maddeningly small print of Representing Righteous Heathens in Late Medieval England.
