I had this idea, of getting a journal, and filling it with recipes and scraps of stories and photos from the area and having a whole New England/MA theme since I might move away once I get a Real Job. I would have recipes with local ingredients, poetry by local poets/me, stories the same, etc.

Thoughts?
Ideas?
Suggestions?

Also, suggests for where I could find a good, sturdy journal for such an enterprise?

I was quite impressed with the journal selection in Borders the other day - seems like they expanded at our local store. Also, scrapbooks from the craft store can be pretty sturdy and durable.

I love this idea! I made a recipe scrapbook as a wedding gift last year. I contacted a bunch of the bride & grooms friends and family, gave them cards and then put them into a scrapbook. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it.
